Help us close the gap
Whether you have an hour a week or a one-off donation to give, you can help make sure no one in Salford is left offline. Our volunteer programme, Tech Buddies, is the heartbeat of what we do.
What does a Tech Buddy do?
Tech Buddies sit with residents at our weekly drop-in sessions and help with whatever they are stuck on. That might be sending a photo to family, filling in a form, setting up email, or just getting comfortable with a mouse and keyboard.
You do not need to be a tech expert. Patience, kindness and a willingness to listen matter far more than knowing every shortcut. We will give you full training and ongoing support.
A typical session
- ✓Welcome people as they arrive and make them feel at ease
- ✓Ask what they would like help with and work through it together
- ✓Go at their pace — no rushing, no jargon
- ✓Celebrate small wins and encourage them to come back
- ✓Hand over to staff if someone needs wider support
